System Refurbishment Process

Our Manufacturer trained engineers evaluate all CT, MRI or PET/CT scanners. This includes: physical inspection, service record review, and complete operation of the system. This allows Genesis Medical Imaging to choose systems that we know are in good working order at the time of de-installation.

We invite you to our facility to see our operation, and see the unit that will be purchased.

  • The systems operations are evaluated on site prior to purchase and de-installation.
  • An inventory is preformed prior to de-installation.
  • The system is de-installed and packed on site.
  • The systems’ covers are removed, and it is completely cleaned and disinfected.
  • All system covers and panels are completely stripped, repaired as necessary, and then refinished with the Manufacturer’s color, texture, and finish.
  • We then stage the CT, MRI, or PET/CT in one of our staging bays. Any component, system or subsystem that does not meet Manufacturer specifications is repaired or replaced. All power and signal brush block assemblies are inspected and replaced if needed. (New X-ray tubes can be installed as an option)
  • Console components (keyboard, mouse, track ball, touch pad, etc.) are replaced if needed.
  • Console monitor is checked and replaced as needed.
  • The scanner is powered up and all systems and subsystems are checked for standard operations and compliance with Manufacturer specifications. All systems will meet or exceed Manufacturer specifications after the staging process is completed.
  • Safety modification’s are provided by the Manufacturer at no cost to the end user and are required by the FDA.
  • The scanner has a final inventory performed by our refurbishment facility manager prior to removal from the staging bay.
  • All confidential patient information is removed from the system per local and Federal HIPPA Regulations.

The unit is then un-cabled, shrink-wrapped, and loaded into an air-ride delivery truck. A turnkey solution is also available where we would be responsible for providing the pre-site installation information to the general contractor, shipping, delivery, installation, and acceptance by the end user.
